How AI revolutionizes medical research and health care
The greatest potential of AI in healthcare lies in personalized precision medicine. Despite continuously improving medical care, clinical outcomes have shown little improvement over the past few decades. This is expected to change with the use of AI - algorithms promise to adapt prevention and therapy to individual health needs from the entirety of health data, thereby improving treatment approaches.
AI is particularly good at rapidly identifying patterns in datasets. For instance, algorithms can quickly analyze genetic sequencing data for changes and signs of disease. AI algorithms are already being used in radiological imaging and pathological analysis to identify medical conditions with higher accuracy. These examples represent just the tip of the iceberg, as AI-driven approaches also offer hope for developing effective medications with fewer side effects.
